ESI's Blog
Trusted Source for Security Alarm Protection
If you are looking to install a security and fire alarm system in your house, office, retail or commercial business or facility hopefully you have done a Google search in your local area to see what companies have the best ratings and offers for your needs. Many local security alarm companies in Jacksonville and the surrounding communities are product geared towards homeowners only, leaving a tremendous void in the commercial market offerings. ESI, Emergency Systems Inc. is a local North Florida and South Georgia security alarm company serving the needs of homeowners and business owners alike with affordable security services since 1979. We take pride in the thousands of customers we have serviced with state-of-the-art security components manufactured by the world’s leading security suppliers. No security need is too large or too small as everyone deserves the peace of mind that having a monitored security shield in place protect those things that matter most.
One word of caution. Those internet or Big Box Store security products have a limited shelf life especially with components like doorbell cameras, standalone video cameras, door and window sensors and the most important feature of any successful security shield, no 24-hour monitoring service provided by skilled and experienced security alarm technicians. Did you know that over 90% of all alarm activations are false alarms. In most cases police or emergency first-responders don’t even answer a non-verified alarm activation. That is why if you hear a building alarm going off for any length of time, chances are it is a stand-alone system with no monitored capabilities. We know that if you have a Ring doorbell camera, the only person that can see the image on the screen is you. Not particularly helpful if you can’t determine what exactly is going on at your front door. Additionally, none of those type products sold are made of commercial-grade materials and in many cases do not function as advertised.
At ESI we specialize in providing security alarm products second to none and all at affordable prices. We have built a business and reputation on service before and after the sale. We also love informing the public on security tips to remain safe. Below is our annual online article dealing this week with tips to enhance your security and those around you during Halloween: When ever you openly invite anyone, especially children on to your property, you are taking a risk and have an obligation to provide a safe and comfortable environment for those about to visit your home or office. Trick or Treat. Please take time to observe the following safety tips.
Illuminate the Path: Use bright lights along walkways and entry points to deter potential mischief and ensure safe passage for trick-or-treaters.
Secure Your Property: Lock all doors and windows. If you have a garage, keep it closed and locked.
Remove Hazards: Clear your yard of any trip hazards like decorations, hoses, or garden tools that could cause accidents.
Monitor the Area: Use outdoor security cameras or motion-sensor lights to keep an eye on your property.
Limit Decorations: Choose decorations that are safe and won’t obstruct visibility. Avoid overly spooky props that could encourage vandalism.
Know Your Neighbors: Connect with neighbors to keep an eye out for each other’s properties. Consider organizing a neighborhood watch.
Keep Valuables Out of Sight: Don’t leave valuables visible in your car or home, especially if you’ll be away from your property.
Be Cautious with Candy: If you’re handing out candy, keep it in a well-lit area and don’t open the door to strangers after a certain hour.
Make Sure to Secure Your Animals: Many children are afraid of dogs especially if they could become aggressive and maim a child.
Most Importantly: Have a safe and fun experience for those about to visit your dwelling and try to avoid the temptation to scare or frightening a child or even an adult as well.
Use a Timer: If you’re going out, use timers on your lights to create the illusion that someone is home. If you live in a neighborhood that is prone to crime, never leave out candy for the masses to enjoy, for that is a tell-tale sign no one is home.
At ESI we know this time of year is exciting and risky because of the amount of time spent away from home and monies spent on the internet and packages being delivered.
